Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter at WPDE-TV. She worked later as an anchor for morning news at WCBD TV and was an investigative reporter. O'Dell's reportage in Charleston regarding the leniency of police officers towards DUI cases has led to an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the DUI instances. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell her Best Report of the year Award to the entire South Carolina media. O'Dell's work in Charleston has led to her serving as co-anchor and investigative reporter as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to she joined Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. O'Dell anchors the main newscast at Access Hollywood. In addition she has contributed to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She's been a reporter for the Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. Other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
